Website Migration Services
What is a website migration service?
When you move your website from one hosting provider to another you need to perform a number of steps. Backup your existing website and database. Transfer the domain. Move all of your website files across from the old hosting provider to the new provider. Move any associated databases across to the servers of the new hosting company. Update your configuration files and settings and test things out so that the new system matches the old system perfectly.
With our website migration service we handle all of this for you so you can get on with the task of running your business.
What types of websites can you migrate?
We can migrate any type of website, whether your website is based on the WordPress platform, Joomla platform or any CMS platform to static html websites. As long as we have access to the server login details of your existing website and the server login details of your new hosting platform, we can move your website for you.
How long does a migration take?
Migrations can vary depending on how complicated the website is. A standard website migration can take up to 48hrs to complete, this can vary depending on the complexity of the project and you should ensure your old hosting account remains active until the migration is fully complete and we’ve informed you that you can now shut down your old hosting account.
What information does Enigma-Designs need?
When you contact us in relation to a migration we’ll put together a proposal for you. On approval of this proposal we will require full access to your existing website, your control panel account with your existing provider as well as your ftp login details. We will also need full access to the new server where you want the website to be moved and therefore will need your ftp login details as well as control panel account login details on the new hosting company platform.
Can I preview my site before moving host?
Yes, we insist that you preview your website and ensure you are 100% satisfied with the result before completing the migration process.
